Debs (Deborah Rose) is doing her ‘rally Chair thing’… …then she says “I don’t want you to clap for this next item” …She was giving the rally officers their Rally officer plaques in time honoured tradition … WHY would she divert from tradition to tell us NOT to clap (our way of saying thank you) to the rally officers at OUTBREAK?????  Well to understand her reasons … and the uproar that followed …we need to travel back in time to February 2025…  Luckily, there was a break in the space time continuum still operative at Bickerton, so we were able to do just that …

We receive an electronic message via the world wide web (e-mail) “We got your booking Your place at Outbreak! on October 31 - November 2 is confirmed.  There’s no turning back now...  

The story so far...

Following the events of Escape from Whitley we know that Dr Whitley was involved in experiments to open a mysterious gateway between worlds. Having failed to eliminate our spies who infiltrated her so-called launch event she has now disappeared.  Meanwhile, a recorded message has emerged from Dr Kate Bour. She disappeared in mysterious circumstances on October 31, 2023, and hasn’t been seen since. Her video contains a disturbing warning.

We believe that Whitley Industries has opened a new laboratory facility at Bickerton.  It relates to Whitley Industries Biogenetics division, but what they are doing is not clear.  If Dr Bour’s warnings are correct this is a dangerous mission.  It is our sincere hope that at least some of you will live to tell the tale...”  Oh my …those of a nervous disposition look away now or step away from your computer/devices …

“Get ready for OUTBREAK Will you survive?   We are looking forward to welcoming you to Outbreak! on October 31 - November 2, at Whitley Industries Biogenetics, Bickerton.  We wanted to give you a heads up on some things we have planned so that you can get ready...  Kate Bour is still missing...  Here’s a reminder of the message that Dr Kate Bour left. It was discovered after her disappearance on October 31, 2023. She still hasn’t been found. It is all somehow related to Dr Whitley and her experiments with gateway technology.

…never have we been monitored hounded) by “rally officers” in this way (well except for last year at Whitley village hall but the least said about that the better …The Village Hall slid off through the rip in the space time continuum which is why we ended up at Bickerton this year, because Whitley village hall, is still not back home) …

Our teams work across genetics, bioengineering, containment systems, and interdimensional research to discover solutions for tomorrow’s most urgent challenges. Our work is ambitious, exacting, and at times experimental.  We ask visitors to respect the seriousness of our environment while engaging with the experience we have prepared.

Safety and medical support

Your safety is our highest priority. Please follow all instructions issued by Whitley Industries personnel during your time on site. Our laboratories employ state-of-the-art containment systems, and our medical facilities are equipped to handle all known (and most unknown) emergencies.  If at any point you feel unwell,  disoriented, or experience any unusual physical sensations (e.g., light sensitivity, dizziness, or auditory distortion), please report immediately to the nearest member of staff. These are likely harmless side-effects of proximity to active research environments. Likely. Do not touch any biological samples, containment equipment, or unfamiliar organisms — no matter how inquisitive they appear. We are committed to maintaining a safe environment. While our procedures are thorough, our work is ambitious — and some aspects of it explore the limits of known science. If you observe anything unusual, report it immediately.

Facility rules

PPE will be provided where required — wear it where instructed. Do not enter restricted or unlit areas without express authorisation Report any anomalies (movement, noise, temperature fluctuations, whispering) immediately Maintain calm and composure in all circumstances. Panic is rarely productive. Stay connected with us. During the weekend, you’re invited to join our optional WhatsApp communications group. This channel will be used to share updates, briefings, and — on occasion — classified information from within the Whitley Industries network. Participation is entirely optional but may enhance your experience and help you stay informed as the weekend unfolds.

small print is, of course, a mere formality — a handful of harmless legal disclaimers in the unlikely event that anything… untoward… should occur during your visit.

Statistically speaking, most participants make it through entirely intact. Legal & Humour Clause: By attending this event you acknowledge that you have voluntarily chosen to enter a working research environment where the lights may flicker, sound may be unsettling, and mysterious audio transmissions may occasionally suggest larger conspiracies. Whitley Industries Biogenetics accepts no responsibility for lost personal items, sudden urges to solve classified mysteries, or minor emotional alterations resulting from exposure to cutting-edge science.  

Containment Agreement: You will not, under any circumstances, attempt to amend containment fields, feed specimens, or activate the Gateway. Any attempts to do so will be met with firm corporate disapproval and possibly stern looks.  

Privacy Oddity: By attending, you consent to being part of event photography and anonymous research into participant reactions — except when you do not consent, in which case please notify a staff member immediately.

Prize of Curiosity: Successful sleuths may be rewarded with cryptic evidence, faintly troubling souvenirs, and the knowledge that they interfered with highly classified research in precisely the way we hoped they would. Rewards are solely at Whitley Industries’ discretion and may be revoked if the recipient reveals too much.

Outbreak Disclaimer: In the improbable event of an “Outbreak” (fictional or otherwise), standard procedures will be followed; we ask you to remain calm, follow staff directions and relinquish any suspect sandwiches for containment analysis.

Loss of Limb or Complete Disappearance Clause:

In the extremely rare event of partial or total bodily disappearance, Whitley Industries Biogenetics accepts no liability for misplaced appendages, spontaneous molecular disassembly, or unexpected relocation to unverified dimensions. Participants are reminded that all property of Whitley Industries—including limbs or personal effects temporarily integrated into experimental matter—is to be considered non-returnable.  Do we really want to risk everything by travelling out on the open road ☹ to Bickerton to be subject to such high levels of danger????

Peter, Barbara, and Jess one week until OUTBREAK We’re looking forward to seeing you Outbreak! on October 31 - November 2, at Whitley Industries Biogenetics, Bickerton is nearly upon us.  Here is some final information so that you can see what we have planned... Is the event safe? Whitley Industries Biogenetics has been in touch. Their spokesperson, Dr Cross, told us “You have my assurance that the facility is entirely safe. We learned a great deal from the previous events — particularly how to recognise the warning signs before anyone else can. Our readings are entirely stable. If there were a genuine containment breach, the sensors would detect it long before any of you did.” So don’t worry – you’ll be absolutely fine.  

But there has been a leak...  Despite the assurances from Whitley Industries, we did recently receive a couple of internal memos via an anonymous email. We don’t know who the source is, but it suggests that perhaps not everything is quite as Whitley Industries would like us to believe...  If you’re interested, you can find the information in the attached file. Don’t forget you can stay up to date during your visit via the WhatsApp group. This is optional, but might add to your... experience… ☹ ☹ ☹

So, we arrived on Halloween (nice touch you supernatural beings) To be met by People in White suits (the Men in Black were obviously busy elsewhere in the universe) with face masks and “human being identity confirmation devices” that they pointed at us menacingly… (they did look like thermometers to be honest) Then… they tagged us like pieces of meat in a market (for our own safety so that we could be tracked in order to keep us safe) or so they said … Personally, I don’t think a paper bracelet will stop the time lords snatching us but hey ho. So, later, once we have secured our traveling pods (cars/Motorhomes) and have recovered (Have we?) …We are invited to join in an interrogation session (also known as a quiz) in the hall which had been decorated to further disorientate us with spooks and ghosts, Ghouls, witches, and Errrrmm. Pumpkins ???

Whilst we comply with the interrogation, strange people (who look very much like the rally officers, but I feel were probably an A.I. production…maybe sent by ASHER

(Avengers and shield heroic engineered Rallier) whom we last saw at Whitley????? came close to us and whispered that we should be very careful …” they are watching

you” …” you have been noticed” …” you have been warned” …and instructed us to wear yet another protection device on our wrists in various colours ?????…  They also handed over Dossiers that consisted of a Full report of our home circumstances, including our electronic footprint descriptors, so as to prove they really were watching us ☹ …

Saturday morning …the younger subjects (guests) were invited to make pumpkin creations, as a way of protecting us against the evil spirits that may be wandering the site on the Saturday night …looking for a way to get home …or back into this world from an alternate dimension …who knows??? This led to Saturday evening, when said, younger subjects, chased around the site looking for antidotes to the evil intruders … sugar … a well-known antidote to bad spirits …  Did you ever see sweets in Dr Who? No …. Stepping back a few hours … because I can … … at the side of the village hall, a strange structure had materialised, as if from another dimension … (you know, like when McDonalds build a new store in two days) ; it had metal walls around it but we could see lots of smoke, flashing lights and rather worryingly … lots of strange noises, and what sounded like screams and some music (to cover the noises ????) As the evening progressed the noises got louder and the screams louder and more blood curdling ☹

We were instructed, that in order to keep safe … we needed to agree to an  appointment time when we could approach the strange building in relative safety … so that we could be told (indoctrinated) what we needed to do to keep safe …… However, our mobile metal containment device (Motorhome) was so near, that we could hear all of the screams and noises very clearly and we could see the other internees (ralliers) who had been through the “process” coming out at the end … …looking clearly shocked and discombobulated (this is much worse than being disorientated) …some so frightened they were actually laughing hysterically … ☹ When our allocated time slot arrived, we were led into the hall to be met by a crazy professor lady, who tried to reassure us that we would be safe on our journey and that we should (well some of us) get out in one piece … We were led through the structure, but were greeted by other more frightening beings who tried to persuade us that they were there to keep us safe, but worryingly, they then tried to indoctrinate us into helping them to release “prisoners “From other dimensions who were stuck in limbo in our reality … Now … I don’t know about you …but I quite clearly saw Stuart Greenfield (or maybe… it was another A.I image ☹) screaming to us to help release him … so we all obviously (self-preservation mode) ignored his deluded (or were they ??) rantings and swiftly moved on … Just when you think it couldn’t get worse … Oh yes it could … The sweeney Todd of Bickerton was at work chopping up bodies, (thankfully there was no stew or casserole /chilli/curry provided that evening …) and we found a

“Dead body” of a child … only to be terrified when the “body” sat up and screamed at us … … swift exit no.2 ☹

We wandered aimlessly swiping away the cobwebs and balloons ???? and ghostly figures hanging from the roof … Then we entered the final stage of this horror story …the Crazy Clown… We didn’t know whether to laugh or cry or scream, but followed the lead of the clown , we attempted to burst the rubber spherical beings (balloons) to make sure that there was no one hiding in them …. After what seemed an eternity … the gateway to freedom was opened and we escaped …as did the clown …last seen heading out of the Bickerton village hall car park at 100 mph    … There followed another interrogation session in the hall however, due to Post Traumatic stress issues … I cannot reveal here what happened… 

So…back to Sunday … before you know it … I am back at Flag the next morning … with Deb telling us NOT to clap as she gave the Rally officers their Plaques … Well, we were not having that and just as we felt the need to object … She said: “NOW I would like you all to show your appreciation for these rally officers for this weekend in the usual Cheshire Centre way …” Well, there was no way we were going to sit and politely clap … For the first time in memory …We ALL stood up and clapped and shouted and cheered for the weekend from hell that we had just taken part in… and the standing ovation continued for several minutes. Followed by lots of laughing, giggling and handshakes and hugs … This was possibly the scariest yet most intriguing and most pleasurable mystery weekend known to the cheshire centre. 

Thank you to Stuart and Nikkie, Aidan & Abbey +1, Linda and Ian, Hannah +1, Colin & Julie Hitchmough for a spectacular weekend We will possibly need a year or two to recover from the trauma (as will you) and to be sure, that we are not still being monitored from another dimension … As for Dr Evelyn Cross + Dr Kate Bour???
